White House officials on Tuesday afternoon warned that Iran was “imminently” planning to strike Israel in a ballistic missile attack, a day after Israel said it had launched “limited, localised and targeted ground raids” against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
“The United States has indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel,” a senior White House official said in remarks carried by US and European news agencies.
